Welcome to the 24th and first episode in English with Anne-Maria Salmela.We talk about Anne’s experience at New York University Abu Dhabi, Investment banking and Venture Capital. Anne is a founder of the first ever student led startup community in the UAE called Violet Ventures that is enabling support for future leaders in the region and bringing brightest minds all over the world. Anne also shares secrets of effective networking through her experience while networking with people like David Cameron, founder of Angry birds and other people. Anne is a true representation of making contrarian decisions, where even if she had offers from Ivy League schools and top UK universities, she chose NYUAD for contrarian reasons; after graduating from university she had offers from renowned companies such as Morgan Stanley and hedge funds, but she chose Venture Capital world regardless of the prestige.
